The teacher told the student he was not allowed to have the drink at recess.

There are plenty of things you shouldn’t let you child go to school with.

A hungry tummy is one. A collection of knives is another.

But there’s one thing that an Australian-based teacher thinks is worth shaming a mum over when it’s included in her son’s lunchbox… and that’s chocolate milk.

Blogger and mum Constance Hall took to her radio show, The Queen Sesh, to tell the story of the teacher who won’t let her son Arlo drink his chocolate milk during recess.

Constance said that upon hearing this from her son, she confronted the teacher.

“So I said to the teacher, really? The options are that or juice, and because he can’t have any bread or anything substantial, I give him the milk to line his tummy a bit because he’s probably hungry.”

The mum-of-six said that seeing as she works full-time, she and other mums like her, should not be criticised for their parenting.

“There are other mothers who can’t even afford to do lunch orders and then for them to get shamed about what they’re giving their kid for recess.

I just don’t like it.  It feels icky to me.”

Constance is no stranger to expressing her parenting stories online.

In her blog, Like a Queen, she regularly shares posts about the struggles associated with parenthood and how she makes ends meet.

On one of her latest radio shows with best friend Anneliese Dent, the mum discussed the trials and tribulations of “birth poo” and how when she was giving birth to Arlo all she could think was: “please don’t poo.”
