Teens in Cork are set to give parents Snapchat lessons

Know anyone who’d benefit from this?

Teenagers across Cork will be giving parents and adults lessons in Snapchat and other social media apps from this September.

The ‘Mentor A Parent’ programme has already been piloted at Gaelcholáiste Charraig Uí Leighin in Carrigaline and is set to be rolled out with first and second year students in other schools across the county from the start of the next school year, the Evening Echo reports.

Run by the Cork Electronics Industry Association, the programme aims to improve students’ presentation skills and to help them understand how their data is used online and other key aspects of internet safety.

It also aims to give parents an understanding of the online world their kids navigate, as well as bring them up to speed on the latest apps.

You can find out more about the programme here.
