Michael Phelps teaching his son to swim is everything

We can't handle these pictures!

Like father, like son!

He’s one of our favourite athletes ever – Michael Phelps has won fans for his down-to-earth nature just as much as his prowess in the pool.

The most decorated Olympian of all time, he’s now retired but is keeping busy with one-year-old son Boomer.

The pair are inseparable if Michael’s Instagram is anything to go by and it looks like the former swimmer is keen to pass his skills on to his son.

He and little Boomer hit the pool yesterday in New York and never before has a set of pictures made us so broody.

Mum Nicole Johnson also got involved, helping the tot get used to the water.

Michael has previously spoken about his son’s love for the pool.

“It’s never too early to introduce your baby to the water,” he said earlier this year.

“Boomer loves it, he floats around in our hands trying to swim butterfly. He loves being in the water and he doesn’t mind going under.”

As for whether Boomer will follow in his dad’s footsteps? Michael says there’s no pressure

“I went through ups and downs in the pool when I loved it and when I hated it, so if he wants to be an athlete of some sort, great. If he doesn’t, OK,”, he told Popsugar.

“The more you push a kid, in my opinion, they go the other direction, so I won’t push him to do that.”
