This is a public service announcement for new mums

If you have just welcomed a new baby, you may want to hold off on assigning who feeds at what time until you read this hack.

One mum, after she gave birth, came up with a plan that resulted in her having a full night of uninterrupted sleep, as well as a lie-in.

She has now shared this hack and advised all fellow mums: “Ladies, we go through enough. Let the men have some of the load.”

‘LuAnna’ podcast host, Luisa Zissman, revealed to her co-host, Anna Williamson, that when she and her husband welcomed their first child, they decided to make an ‘arrangement’ for feeds.

The couple agreed that Luisa would take the night feeds and her husband would wake at 5.30am to do their daughter’s morning feed before work, leaving his wife to have ‘a few hours of uninterrupted rest’.

“I’ve never told anyone this,” the mum begins, later adding that at 10-weeks-old, their daughter dropped night feeds.

“At 10 weeks, baby girl dropped her night feeds so now I have a blissful sleep. Plus, additional lie-in time most days…”

Luisa continues that she has not shared this update with her daughter’s father, and she keeps up the facade that their baby still wakes every night to avoid losing her morning lie-in.

“… After telling my husband how awful my night had been and him thanking me for being so quiet as he had no idea it was such a struggle.”

Her co-host Anna then chimes in excitedly and says: “This is genius!”, to which Luisa says, “I don’t regret it at all. “Ladies, we go through enough. Let the men have some of the load.”

She signs off, “Much love, a well-rested mumma,” with Anna clapping describing Luisa’s hack as” “Winning at life.”

Many users have applauded the idea.

“Give the lady a crown!!” one user exclaimed.

“Work smarter, not harder,” another agreed.

Adding to the response, some mums even offered some of their own similar hacks.

“This has the same energy as when I used to say I was going food shopping but I’d already ordered it to collect so I could sit with a coffee for a bit,” a user wrote.

“I pretend I need the toilet just to get 5 mins peace and just sit there on tiktok,” another added.

“our kid used to wake up in the night . i would poke my husband and say “your turn” as if id been up already . Ive never told him i never got up at all,” one parent admitted.

“So I hate washing bottles and I’m pregnant so I have told my husband for the last 7 months I can’t wash bottles because it makes me so sick,” an expectant mum shared.
