WATCH: Couple who lost son hours after birth introduce newborn twins on Late Late Show

Anna O'Rourke

Michelle and Vin Manley have had a tough few years.

Michelle was 20 weeks pregnant in 2014 when the couple learned that their unborn baby would not survive after birth due to a fatal foetal abnormality.

The couple from Drogheda faced a difficult decision, but decided to continue the pregnancy to full term.

But speaking on the Late Late show in February of last year, they said that it was personal decision for each couple in such a situation.

“There is no right and there is no wrong thing to do from that moment on. The right thing to do is what is right for you and your unborn baby,” said Michelle.

They lost their son Jamie three hours after he was born on 9 January 2015.

It has been a much happier story for the couple recently, who introduced their three-week old twins Eoin and Bethany on the Late Late show last night.

Michelle said the couple faced another tough decision in choosing whether to try again.

“You’re saying, is it worth the risk, is it worth the heartbreak? Is it worth the risk of regretting if you don’t?”

Vin added that Jamie’s memory is still being kept alive alongside the new arrivals.

“They get wrapped up in Jamie’s blankets every night, they sleep in Jamie’s cot,” he said.
