"When I politely declined she told me it was her house and she wanted me to cover up. "I told her my daughter gets sweaty and uncomfortable under the blanket and if it was that much of an issue that I wasn't going to do that to her, we would leave, and she said fine - leave."The mum then said that as she was packing up to go, her mother said that when she was in her home, she had to cover up because "nobody wants to see that."
The mum's post has received a lot of support online with other parents saying that her mother's response to breastfeeding was unwarranted and that it was "sad" she wouldn't support her daughter. Facebook group 'Breastfeeding Mama Talk,' where the post was originally shared, wrote that:"She made me look like the bad guy to my older 2 children by telling them I was leaving because I was mad at her and she was sorry they couldn't stay to watch the end of the movie she just put on for them."This is what it looked like while I fed my daughter."
"She can feel how she wants, as sad as it is she can’t support her own daughter. But it was uncalled for to shame her in front of her children, bringing them into the situation unnecessarily."
