The TV3 presenter is due to give birth this week.

Andrea Hayes is just days away from her due date and is calling it a “miracle” that she has made it to full term.

The TV3 host has suffered multiple miscarriages in the past and credits a very unlikely reason for helping her get pregnant again.

“When I was filming Dog Tales and writing the book, I wrote about this, there’s new scientific evidence to suggest that when you look into the eyes of a puppy serotonin is exchanged,” Andrea told The Irish Mirror.

“Which is considered the cuddle chemical, the same chemical released when a mother gives birth.

“I’m convinced that the cuddle chemical was released and it did something hormonal in my body because it facilitated me to get pregnant.”

Andrea went on to speak about suffering from three miscarriages and how “traumatic” it was.

“We’ve had three miscarriages in a very short space of time, one of them was called, a complete molar pregnancy linked to cancer.

“You can’t try to get pregnant for at least six months afterwards as you have to keep checking your HCG hormone to make sure the mole, the cancer-causing growth, doesn’t grow back again.

“That was hugely traumatic and difficult and nerve wrecking.”

Andrea says she was not able to go down the IVF route because of her egg count, so truly believes this baby is a “miracle”.
