Baby name trends come and go.
But seasonal baby names have always been extremely popular – and this year is no exception. Spring, summer, autumn and winter-themed monikers have been trending throughout the year.
According to a survey by Emma’s Diary, 62 per cent of parents-to-be who are expecting winter babies are planning to choose a traditional name.
And 38 per cent of parents said that they would pick something more modern, while 43 per cent would give their bundle a Christmas-themed name.
Among the top picks for girls are Ivy and Holly, while Arthur and Harry are the favourites for boys.
Although, it’s not only the festive-themed names that parents are loving: many of the royal family’s names have also made the list.
Faye Mingo, Marketing Director at Emma’s Diary, told the Daily Star:
“Interestingly for girls names, Ivy and Holly remain ever-popular at this time of year, while the draw of more traditional names is growing too.
“Choosing a name for your baby takes a lot of thought and planning and as our poll shows, many of us are very much influenced by our own family name traditions too.”
