I got talking to one of the other mums from my son's pre-school recently when we found ourselves at the same local swimming pool (which didn't end well for other reasons, more about that here!) I mentioned that Jacob was keen to have all his pals over to our house for a little party soon. His birthday isn't coming up or anything, he just really loves his classmates and evidently, loves to party too. 'Well he didn't lick that off a stone' she joked. And I wholeheartedly agree - I LOVE to throw a little party or get-together, even though after most of the ones we have at our house, I am found exhausted and wailing on the couch that I will never, ever do it again. (But secretly I know I will). So whenever an opportunity arises to throw a baby shower for a friend who is expecting, I jump at the chance. Meeting Other Great Women Organising a party for someone else means getting the numbers or email addresses for the pregnant lady's sisters and friends, some of whom you may not have met before.
