This is the first gift Meghan Markle received at her baby shower

Keeley Ryan

As royal fans are well away, Meghan Markle is in New York City at the moment.

The Duchess of Sussex is believed to be having a baby shower – organised by her close friend, Jessica Mulroney – with more than a dozen of her longtime friends.

The guest list is thought to include actress Priyanka Chopra and Suits actress Abigail Spencer, royal reporter Omid Scobie told Good Morning America

The mum-to-be was pictured in an all-black outfit (which you can see here) as she arrived at the hotel where the “celebration with her closest friends” is being held.

Ahead of the party this evening (or afternoon in New York City time), there preparations were well and truly underway. Trucks were pictured dropping off party decorations – like bushels of roses – throughout the morning.

And there was one particular snap which revealed the first gift Meghan is believed to have received from one of her guests – in fact, it was pretty hard to miss.

A photo obtained by Hello! shows a still-in-the-package crib being carefully wheeled in to the Upper East Side hotel earlier this afternoon.

The side of the box said that it was from Babyletto, a North American children’s brand – and even gave away what the thoughtful guest had ordered for the Duchess and Duke of Sussex’s future little boy or girl.

The Hudson 3-in-1 convertible crib with toddler bed conversion kit comes in a variety of colours – including espresso, blush pink, grey and ‘washed’ neutral. It retails for $379 (around €334).

The description reads:

“Delight in mid-century modern appeal with the Hudson 3-in-1 Convertible Crib. Featuring stylish rounded spindles and an open modern silhouette, the Hudson Crib is made with eco-friendly, non-toxic materials backed with GREENGUARD GOLD certification.

“An included toddler bed conversion kit allows you to seamlessly convert from crib to toddler bed to daybed, while the additional Junior bed conversion kit (M4299, sold separately) means that your Hudson can grow along with your babe.

“And whether you prefer a contemporary or time-honored palette for your nursery, Hudson has you covered from modern greys, clean white, and playful two-tones.”
