Followers of BumpWatch, my pregnancy video diary took to our Facebook page this week to relate some of the funny, mean and downright outrageous things people (or should we just say IDIOTS) have said to them as they went about their lives gestating away.

"When I was pregnant with my wee boy I was at my boyfriends sisters birthday party for an hour in the pub and another fella that I know looked me up and down, turned to his friend and said 'that one there's disgusting now, she's just ruined her body' I was so mad and felt so low that I went home and cried myself to sleep. My body doesn't look any different now to what it did before I got pregnant. People are dicks!" – Leontia

'Is it twins or triplets? '
'You look like a whale.'
'A baby elephant would make less noise walking around!'

9. Rachel has the equally annoying reverse-shaming to content with:
"It actually bothers me when people say I don't look 33 weeks pregnant. I admit, I'm very lucky to be just all baby, but this is the most body confident I've ever been, and comments like that do upset me. My bump is the perfect size (1cm per week), I don't understand why people think its okay to say I'm too small? Do they think that's a compliment? Why can't they say something like 'you're looking so well' instead?"
10. Maggie had some pretty spot on advice:
"Pregnancy is just the beginning of people thinking they can say whatever enters their heads when their two brain cells spark off each other... audibly... to your face! It then moves to your post pregnancy body and how to parent your own baby. My advice? Grin in the knowledge you're doing an awesome job growing your baby, xx"
