Model Lily Aldridge walks in Fashion Week show at five months pregnant

We're always keen to see more diversity in fashion so we were delighted to see pregnant model Lily Aldridge take to the catwalk  in New York over the weekend. The Victoria's Secret Angel wore stiletto heels and a figure-hugging red dress that accentuated her bump down the catwalk as she walked for designer Brandon Maxwell. Lily took to Instagram after the show, saying she felt proud to have taken part at five months pregnant. "I’ve walked few runways in my life and this is a moment that I’ll look back on forever with great emotion," she wrote. "Thank you Brandon for letting me shine and being such a true gentleman." Appearing in a high profile New York Fashion Week show might seem like huge pressure for a woman in her second trimester but Lily said she had a ball working the event. "It was so much fun being backstage will all the girls, everyone was so uplifting and rubbing my belly celebrating this beautiful journey with me," she said. She follows in the footsteps of model Maia Ruth Lee, who last year walked for Eckhaus Latta with her baby bump peeking out of her dress. "It’s really beautiful just to see different stages of life," said the brand’s co-founder Mike Eckhaus. "It’s fashion, but there’s a sense of how it moves with you in all these different ways." Lily announced her pregnancy in August, sharing a photo of her bump to Instagram with the simple caption "SURPRISE". She and husband Caleb Followill are already parents to six-year-old daughter Dixie.
