As fans of the royal family are no doubt aware, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are due to welcome their first child in just a few weeks.

The Duchess of Sussex, who is believed to be due in April, is nearing the end of her royal duties ahead of her maternity leave.

And an insider told PEOPLE that the former actress’ “California roots are coming through” as she continues to prepare for the birth of her first child.

They explained:

“She’s being mindful of what she puts in her body and on her skin and even her at-home cleaning supplies.

“She’s hyperaware of what she’s using. She’s looking for natural things.

“She eats cleaner, and she’ll probably make her own baby food. It’s going to be clean living for this baby.”

The news comes soon after it was claimed Meghan was planning to “extend an olive branch” to her estranged father after she gives birth.

The mum-to-be is said to have been left upset after months and months of her relatives talking to the media, an insider told the Daily Mail that she hopes the brith of her and Prince Harry’s boy or girl will be the start of a new chapter.

They explained that the mum-to-be “understands the pressures of intense media scrutiny” and that she is “saddened” by what her family has been going through.

The source added:

“She plans to extend an olive branch to the family and invite them to visit after the baby is born – her sister [Samantha Markle] included.

“Meghan hopes and prays that the baby will bring her family back together.”
