Lots of pregnancy tests will be taken tomorrow, apparently.

It marks two weeks after the most popular day for trying to conceive, or National Baby Making Day as it’s known. So, if couples tried to conceive on January 2, then tomorrow is the day they will check to see if they did successfully.

Sixty percent of couples will try for a September baby, according to new research. In the UK, September is a very popular month for births, with September 26, in particular, being the most common birth date. That is 38 weeks after January 2, the average length of a pregnancy.

Interestingly in Ireland, September 26 is the fourth most common birth date, with October 1 claiming the top spot.

Channel Mum, in the UK, has said that 10,000 women are expected to take the tests tomorrow in the hopes of seeing a positive test result.

Siobhan Freegard, founder of Channel Mum, said:

“Falling pregnant isn’t always easy so couples who have been trying a while will attempt almost anything to help.

While there isn’t much medical science to back up these tips, our members swear they have all helped and we have hundreds of bouncing new babies to prove it.

As long as you have fun trying, it’s always worth giving it a go.”
