Well, this is an interesting take on it.
Thank You notes are traditional. If you host a party, you would like to thank your friends for being there, and if they gave you a present, you’d like to do it even more so.
It’s seen as polite and friendly to receive one.
However, one mum-to-be has posted on Twitter about her baby shower, and how one of her friends exclaimed that there should be no thank you notes sent out afterwards.
At my baby shower yesterday, one woman said, before I started opening gifts, “Can we give you the gift of no thank-you notes?” And everyone gasped and I DIED and now I’m going to be that lady at every shower I go to.

Laura spoke to ABC News about the moment, saying: “At first everyone was kind of stunned,” she said. “Pretty quickly it turned from a sense of surprise, to a sense of excitement at this new and relieving idea.”
The friend who declared that there should be no thank you notes also spoke to the station, saying: “There is so much pressure on new moms to sort of perform and meet everybody else’s expectations.
“I believe that everybody wanted to communicate to Laura that we were there for her and all we really wanted her to do is enjoy her pregnancy, spend time with her baby, and not be writing ‘thank-you’ notes.”
What do you think mums? Should thank you notes be forgotten about? Or are they a nice tradition?
