How To Fix a Broken Zipper In 3 Seconds

Katie Mythen-Lynch

From jeans and jackets to snowsuits, tracksuits, suitcases and handbags, zippers are the modern fastener, second only to the good old button.

For a mechanism that’s so popular however, they can be extremely tricky to repair, meaning that items with broken zippers are frequently abandoned on the ‘to be fixed’ pile.

As it turns out however, all we needed was a little expert tuition and a pair of pliers.

In this brilliant little video, the experts at UCAN Zippers USA show us how to easily tighten the slider (that’s the main zippy bit, to you and me) so it slides easily up and down the teeth.

Genius.
