Incredible! Mum in Australia gives birth to 14.5 lb baby girl naturally

Melissa Carton

Wow.

An Australian mum wowed the doctors and nurses at the maternity hospital she attended when she gave birth to a 14.5 lb baby girl naturally.

In fact baby Willow might be the biggest baby ever to be born in the Victoria region of Australia and is double the average weight for babies born in Australia.

Willow’s mum Melis Amey is well used to giving birth to big babies after already giving birth to a 12.3 lbs daughter previously, but she was still startled at how big the newest addition to the family is.

Melis has already joked that Willow will probably fit in her big sister’s nappies soon and that you won’t get any wear out of the newborn sized clothing and is already wearing baby grows for a three month old.

Before Willow’s birth a a baby boy named Maoama Ala was the largest baby born on Australian records in 2018 weighing or 13.8 lbs.

While both mum and dad were surprised at just how big Willow was at birth, the whole family are delighted at her arrival and are back home spending time as a family.
