The fifth class students at the non-denominational school put together their own Pride festival to celebrate inclusivity and diversity in their community. The school also took part in the 2019 Different Families Same Love competition in which the placed first in the senior category. Students at the school have been learning about LGBT+ events including those that inspired Pride parades such as Stonewall (this year being the 50th anniversary) and Declan Flynn. The class even decided to name the main stage after Declan Flynn to honour the man who “inspired one of the first Irish pride marches”. According to GCN, the student's fantasy line up for their Pride festival will include Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Elton John and Years and Years and I honestly don't know why these kids aren't organising Dublin Pride because that sounds amazing! We are delighted to announce the #winners of the #DifferentFamiliesSameLove #competition for 2019.
