Bluey is here to make your lives easier
Bluey is a staple in any household that has a toddler and it’s actually having an incredible impact on our children.
The Australian children’s TV show is completely tolerable compared to Peppa Pig and always keeps the kids quiet when parents need a minute to themselves.
Not only does it keep them happy, but it also helps when they’re having a tantrum.
Parenting expert Amy Buckland said there’s one Bluey phrase that helps ease a tantrum.
She told her TikTok followers that it’s normal to feel frustrated and disappointed when a tantrum happens.
“Your natural reaction is to tell them to stop, tell them they’re being over the top or rush in to fix it for them. This doesn’t build frustration tolerance for the next time.”
“They have all the feelings but no skills to manage them. They feel powerless, and overwhelmed and don’t understand what’s going on inside.
“You can work with their developing brain by being on their team,” she said.
Amy said the phrase “ahhh biscuits” can help when something or upsetting happens.
“When something unexpected and disappointing happens to your toddler you can say “ahhh biscuits” and then you can add so frustrating,” Amy added.
We’ll certainly try this out next time one of our children is having a tantrum.
