The HerFamily.ie 30 Day Bikini Body Blitz: The Rules

This year we say NO MORE to the crash diets and starvation plans of yesteryear.

The HerFamily.ie team are joining forces with fitness expert Gillian Hynes of Body Project to make sure we (and you) feel like the best version of yourself when you hit the beach… and that means STRONG, HEALTHY and FIT.

These are the rules we’ll be sticking to for the coming four weeks:

  • Start your day with a cup of hot water and lemon.
  • Throughout your day you’ll be drinking water – aiming for a total of eight regular sized glasses per day. Flavour with pieces of fruit, cucumber or mint. No cordials (that includes sugar free ones!)
  • Limit teas and coffees to a max of two per day. No cappucinos or lattes. Black, with a splash of milk. No sugar or sweeteners. This will help not just with weight loss, but also flushing out your system and reducing the appearance of dreaded cellulite.
  • You can drink unlimited quantities of white or green tea.

Snacks

On our plan we will be aiming to avoid snacking between meals.

“While the concept of not snacking seems alarming to most at first, as your blood sugar levels stabilise and your energy level improve naturally, you’ll be surprised at how much you are no longer looking for them.” says Gillian.

However, if you still want an occasional snack, especially in the first week, ideal snacks are:

  • A piece of fruit
  • Homemade guacamole with carrot or celery sticks
  • Small serving of nuts (bar peanuts)
  • Small cup of chopped tomato, olives and feta
  • Body Project Green Smoothie
