Luckily for most of us, we don't have to start filming a bikini-clad shark attack thriller mere weeks after giving birth.
However, if you are an actress, this might be the cards you are dealt, meaning you will just have to suck it up and start getting your body back into its pre-baby shape at time when the rest of us are still rocking nursing bras and bathrobes around the clock.
This was the case for Blake Lively, who gave birth to her first baby, daughter James, just eight months before filming began on The Shallows – a film which has Blake wearing not much more than her bikini for most of it.
And in fairness, Lively, 28, is pretty blessed in the genetics department to begin with, but to really ditch the baby lbs
fast, the actress revealed on Australia’s
Kyle and Jackie O Show that she had to overhaul her diet and ate no processed foods.
Specifically, she cut gluten and soy from her diet, and talked about just how tricky that turned out to be.
“Once you remove soy, you realize you’re eating no processed foods," Blake revealed to the radio hosts. "So that’s basically what I did. No processed foods and then working out"
"It seems like, ‘Oh, that’s really easy to cut that out,’ but then you realize, there’s soy in everything,” she said. “Like, everything you eat, there’s soy in it. Even if it’s healthy, Whole Foods organic stuff, there’s
always soy in it.”
Balance was key, though, she explained.
“I was still able to have sugar and all of those things. It’s all in moderation. You just have a balance of protein, carbs, and vegetables. And it wasn’t the worst. Like, I was eating rice and sushi.”
The delicious fresh muffins on The Shallows movie set, however, were out of the question.
“That was the hardest part,” she said. “They were making these fresh muffins ever morning, those jacka**es!"
Well, we hope for Blake's sake, now that she is pregnant with baby #2 with husband Ryan Reynolds, that she is taking the opportunity to eat all the muffins!
