OK, so we are all prone to a little chocolate frenzy or five when we have our periods – I mean; if a girl can't indulge when it is that time a month, then when the heck can she?!
Chocolate really
does make everything better.
But did you know that you can now actually buy a chocolate that not only tastes delicious, but can also make the pain go away when you have you period?!
Yup, that's right, ladies. A chocolatier in Switzerland claims to have created a chocolate that can "help relieve period pains."
The chocolate, aptly named “Frauenmond” which translates to “women’s moon” is made by Chocolate with Love, and is the brainchild of Marc Widmer, who previously worked as a pastry chef for a string of top hotels.
Widmer explains that his healing chocolate contains 17 Swiss mountain herbs that can alleviate menstrual pains.
How, you might wonder? Well, according to the inventor, the "health benefits arise from interactions with the herbs and molecules in the chocolate to produce a calming effect on the body."
Chocolate and pain relief? Sounds good to us.
"We want to make the menstruation days of women more comfortable," Mr Widmer recently told
20 Minuten.
"Of course men can also eat the chocolate. I myself have already tried [it],” he added.
