Can’t sleep? Spotify reveals the most popular bedtime music

Sleep-inducing tunes

Sive O'Brien

Having trouble drifting off at night? Here’s a list of songs that might just help.

Spotify has revealed the top 20 tracks that people use to unwind before they hit the sack at night, placing Ed Sheeran in the top spot. The streaming service has said that sleep is one of the most popular categories on the site, and we can well believe it.

Featuring on the list seven times, the British singer-songwriter whose tracks include ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and ‘I See Fire’ is a popular choice when it comes to dreamy music. Other sleep-inducing tunes on the list include ‘Love Me Like You Do’ by Ellie Goulding, John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ and ‘Stay With Me’ by Sam Smith, who appears on the list four times. I wonder if these songs will be able to work their magic on wide awake tots too. Worth a try.

The top 20 sleepy tunes are…

1. Thinking Out Loud – Ed Sheeran
2. Stay With Me – Sam Smith
