Wrecked? This gym is running ‘napercise’ classes for tired parents

All you’d have to do is find someone to take the kids.

A chain of gyms in the UK is set to run ‘napercise’ classes from this weekend.

And guess who David Lloyd health clubs are aiming the classes at.

Worn-out parents in need of a good kip, the BBC has reported.

Sounds like heaven.

Instead of intense, thumping music, the gym will be filled with soothing sounds to help people to nod off in cosy beds.

Gym-goers will still burn off calories too as the temperature in the gym will be dropped to cooler levels to promote calorie-burning.

Getting forty winks is essential for your health (and your sanity), said sleep expert Kathryn Pinkham, who worked with the gym chain on the project.

“We tend to focus on the short-term effects such as being tired or lacking concentration, but it is also essential for our long-term physical and mental wellbeing too,” she said.

We’re delighted that parents in the UK will be legitimately able to go to a place and sleep uninterrupted, but our question is this – WHEN can we do the same in Ireland?!
