Here’s A Sleep Trick We’re Pretty Sure You HAVEN’T Tried Yet

Mind racing? Having trouble dropping off? If the traditional bedtime tricks for better sleep don’t seem to be working for you, there is one more you could try.

Sleep researcher Glenn Landry recommends wearing sunglasses for two hours before going to bed.

Apparently, wearing sunnies helps protect your brain from nasty blue light – the kind that comes from smartphones, computer screens and TVs. This in turn allows your circadian rhythm to operate as designed, making you sleepy as the sun goes down and giving you energy during daylight hours.

Landry told CBC News:

Beginning at eight at night, two hours before the time I want to go to bed, I wear sunglasses. Not because my future’s so bright, but because I’m trying to avoid light. I’m trying to tell my clock that this is the end of the day.”

So there you have it, make like Anna Wintour at Fashion Week and wear your shades indoors for a longer kip.
