Still struggling to sleep in this heat? This simple hack could solve the problem

Genius!

Orlaith Condon

We haven’t gotten a good night’s sleep in weeks.

Yes, at this stage we’ve forgotten what it is to sleep the night through nevermind with any form of comfort.

With bed sheets going through the wash at an almighty rate and bottles of water building up on our bedside lockers, we’re in desperate need of a proper night’s sleep in cooler temperatures.

Well, thanks to this hack we might not need the temperatures to drop in order to get some shut eye.

While putting on more layers might go against everything in your gut, popping on a pair of socks can actually do the world of good – once they’ve been in the fridge all day.

Yep, according to The Sleep Council, putting your socks in the fridge for the day and wearing them to bed that night will help bring your body temperature down, making it easier to fall asleep.

“While high-end temperatures make a welcome debut, steamy nights and baking bedrooms do little to lull us to sleep,” they said of the hack.

“Chill socks in the fridge before bedtime as it will help to lower your core body temperature.”

It’s so simple, yet so effective. We’ve been trying out this method over the last few nights and we have to say – it works.
