Don’t worry: THIS is exactly how much your sex life affects your happiness

Katie Mythen-Lynch

If tales of six-times-a-week bedroom marathons leave you feeling a little inadequate, there’s some proper research that proves you needn’t worry.

Scientists have proven that just one decent sex session per week is enough to improve your happiness.

University Of Toronto Missisauga examined data taken from questionnaires completed by 30,000 Americans over more than 30 years.

The team discovered that, while making love regularly is associated with happiness, this is only true up to once a week. Any extra action didn’t improve on a couple’s happiness in any way.

Lead researcher Amy Muise said:

“Our findings were consistent for men and women, younger and older people, and couples who had been married for a few years or decades,”

She added that the team’s research suggest that it’s important to maintain an intimate connection with your partner, “but you don’t need to have sex everyday as long as you’re maintaining that connection.”

So there you have it, the sex sweet spot is much more realistic and manageable than we realised.
