Totally Wrecked? Us too. This might be the reason why

If you’re staring, bleary-eyed, at your screen while slurping your fifth coffee right now, this news is unlikely to surprise you, but it’s official: Irish people aren’t getting enough sleep.

In fact, a whopping 64 per cent of Irish adults get less than the seven hours recommended sleep, which can have huge implications on overall health and the ability to function under pressure.

And we’re not doing anything to help ourselves either; 22 per cent of us don’t typically go to bed until after midnight on a weekday.

See? That’s what one more episode of House of Cards gets you.

This is according to new research commissioned by Wellman and Wellwoman vitamin supplements who also discovered that just six per cent of Irish people would describe themselves as having high energy levels, while 50 per cent feel that their energy levels are poor.

Interestingly, Irish men score their energy as better than women’s with 56 per cent of men considering themselves to have good energy levels compared with only 46 per cent of women. Perhaps we should take another look at our to-do lists and see if we can’t balance that out a bit…

How would you describe your energy levels? Let us know on Twitter @HerFamilydotie.
