Wearing Underwear While You Sleep Is Apparently Bad For Your Health

Do you sleep in your underwear? Well, you might ditch them after finding out that it could potentially cause some health problems.

According to The New Zealand Herald, experts are saying that keeping your pants on while you sleep can not only affect the body’s ability to regulate temperature but the fabric can also cause irritation or infection.

Dr. Alyssa Dweck, a fertility expert from New York, revealed: “I often tell my patients to sleep without underwear.

“If the area is constantly covered – especially by a fabric that’s not moisture-wicking or absorbent – then moisture collects, creating the perfect breeding ground for bacteria or yeast.”

And it’s not just women who need to consider going commando, it seems that men could also be compromising their fertility by sleeping in their underwear as their bits need to be the right temperature to help sperm production.

If ditching the briefs isn’t your thing, loose-fitting ones could be the way to go. The bigger, the better!
