Gillette has recently released a new advert featuring a dad teaching his son how to shave.
What makes this advert different is that the son is a young transgender man.
Samson Brown can be seen in the ad being lovingly shown how to shave by his proud father. Brown said that he was so happy to share this special moment with his father.
“I’m at the point in my manhood where I’m actually happy. It’s not just myself transitioning, it’s everybody around me transitioning.”
This ad is just one of the many ways that Gillette hope to fight toxic masculinity.
Gillette’s new advert launched May 23 and has received a lot of praise online.

Many young trans people suffer from low self-esteem due to a lack of acceptance but representation like this is a huge step in helping them conquer these feelings and know that they are truly accepted for who they are.
