Coronation Street’s Antony Cotton has teased a “big storyline” ahead for Sean Tully.
The actor also confirmed his character will be staying around Weatherfield until autumn 2020, after signing a new deal.
He told The Daily Star:
“I had a meeting about my future. I didn’t sign up straightaway. You have to negotiate a little bit!
“It will be my 17th year. I’m so pleased because I love being on the show. It’s a nice set.
“I spend more time with my Corrie family than I do with my real one.
“I’m very lucky. I have my three families – my real family at home, my Corrie family and then my military family.”
Cotton also teased a “big storyline” for his character, which will be taking place towards the end of this year – and that there may be a very familiar face returning, too.
He continued:
“Towards the end of this year, I’ve got a big storyline. I will be working with someone that the audience may have seen before… maybe someone is returning!”
The 44-year-old has been on Coronation Street since 2003.
Since then, Sean has been involved in a number of big storylines – including fathering his friend’s child, homelessness and losing his job at the Underworld factory.
In May 2018, it was announced that Cotton had signed a year long contract to remain on the soap.
He said at the time:
“I’ve just signed for another year and I’m very happy.
“I genuinely thought I’d be here for three months. I thought that would be really great, regular work then off to the next job.
