According to Croatian publication, Jutarnji List, tourists will be required to carry their luggage through the streets if it has wheels.
From November, the city is planning to bring in a system to allow leave their luggage before entering the old town.
They will need to pay a fee to have their luggage delivered to their accommodation, with the move being described by the mayor as "just the beginning".
Anyone with a backpack or rucksack will not be affected as this new move only applies to suitcases with wheels.
On top of this, tourists who are visiting Old Town Dubrovnik are also urged by the Dubrovnik Tourism Board not to walk pets without a leash, to avoid climbing on monuments and to not walk the city without a shirt on as a way of showing they "respect the city."
