Spend a half an hour each Sunday night chopping the fruit and veg, you can then freeze these in freezer bags to make little smoothie packs.
2.Freeze your ginger:
This is a great cooking cheat for any dish that requires fresh ginger not just smoothies. Peel thumbs of fresh ginger and store in the freezer. When you want to add ginger to smoothies, curries or dressing just grate the frozen ginger using a fine grater or microplane.
3. Freeze your fruit:
Frozen grapes make tasty treats just like healthy ice pop bites, while adding chopped frozen banana gives any smoothie an instant milk-shake like consistency no ice cream required. In fact blending frozen banana just on its own makes a brilliant ice cream alternative.
4. Get it to go:
I find bringing my smoothie to work saves time in the morning. I know we're all supposed to be mindfully chewing each meal but sometimes the reality is we just need something fast that's going to nourish us. You don't need a fancy gadget to transport your smoothie an old jar will do. I also find a wide straw is good for drinking your smoothie and maintaining composure.
5. Make it savoury:
I have a major savoury tooth and one of the biggest things I thought I wouldn't like about the smoothie buzz was the fact that they are largely sweet until I discovered the world of savoury smoothies. Think chilled soups like cucumber soup, avocado soup and gazpacho. They are all so tasty and refreshing like in this demonstration below.
