Meghan broke royal protocol this weekend with her fab Wimbledon outfit

It never ends.

So over the weekend, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton went to Wimbledon. The pair of Duchesses went to cheer on Serena Williams, who is a close friend of Meghan's. At the tennis, Meghan wore a chic blue striped shirt and highwaisted cream pants by Ralph Lauren. The Duchess accessorised with a pair of sunglasses and a hat - which are banned from the royal box. The Royal Box dress code is pretty strict and asks that women do not take hats into the Royal Box to not "obscure the vision of those seated behind them". As per Wimbledon's website, the dress code reads as follows:

"Protocol - dress is smart, suits/jacket and tie, etc. Ladies are asked not to wear hats, as they tend to obscure the vision of those seated behind them."

To be fair though, Meghan was not actually photographed wearing the hat, just holding it. It should also be noted that a few hats made an appearance in the royal box this year! Princess Michael of Kent and Emma Watson were both spotted inside the Royal Box sporting hats. Rules be damned, it would seem.
