‘Call the Midwife’ returned to our screens earlier this month
The new series of ‘Call the Midwife’ has been nothing short of a joy to watch so far.
We may only be two episodes into the new series but it’s already an incredibly emotional watch.
However, it looks like things are set to get even more moving, so have the tissues at the ready.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the new season, Renee Bailey, who plays Joyce Highland, warned fans that it gets sad.
“What comes to mind is episode 4. No spoilers but that is a sad episode.
“It’s funny, because you get the script a couple of days before, and you’re having a read, and you’re like, ‘OK, what am I in? Cool.’ So you prep that,” she continued.
“There’s a lot in this season that is quite sad, to be fair, but I think that that one stands out as, I remember, the first time I had a proper visceral reaction of sadness to it. I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is really tough,” she added.
Fans are worried about one character after Sunday night’s episode.
Fred Buckle appeared to be struggling with his health in a preview for next week’s episode.
There’s no doubt the new season will be full of tearful moments, but isn’t that what makes Call the Midwife so special?
The new season of Call the Midwife continues next Sunday at 8 pm on BBC 1.
