If you’ve bought your child a life jacket it may be part of a massive recall.
Hundreds of kids’ life jackets that were sold in Ireland are being recalled due to a risk of drowning.
The vests could be purchased on Amazon for children between the ages of one and six, and approximately 580 of the products are believed to be in the country.
The Swimbubs Float Jacket Buoyancy Aids were sold between May 2019 and October 2023 in sizes suitable for one to three-year-olds, as well as larger sizes for three to six-year-old children.
If you purchased one of these products please discontinue use immediately and keep away from children.
Amazon has emailed all customers who purchased the item and advised them to get in contact with Swimbubs directly.
This can be done by filling out the form within this link and providing your contact details so that Swimbubs may get in touch and organise a refund.
Parents have been warned that the product “may not perform as expected” if their child gets into trouble in the water.
A statement from Swimbubs reads: “We are a small family-run business with very limited resources, therefore we please kindly ask you to allow us some time to respond back to you.
“We hope our little business can survive this recall and is able to continue operating going forward. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
