As the number of accidents soar every year, Dublin Fire Brigade has released a post reminding people of the numbers to call if an accident occurs.
Every year, Dublin Fire Brigade release staggering figures on the number of emergency calls they respond to every year.
Christmas is a time when house fires are at an all-time high and the emergency services want to do their best to make sure you have a safe and pleasant Christmas.
As part of the protocol in doing so, they’ve released the two important numbers with the hope that you do not need them this festive period.
Happy Christmas! We hope not see you over the festive season, but we are here 24/7 if you have an emergency. Remember 999 or 112 is the only way to contact us in case of an emergency. pic.twitter.com/4YkaqPFMzn

999 or 112 work throughout Ireland and will put you through to the first responders for all emergency situations.
Other numbers to remember over this period include your nearest hospital and the number of An Garda Siochana’s confidential line which is 1800 666 111.
Dublin Fire Brigade also want to remind people to buy extra batteries over this festive period and under no circumstance take batteries out of smoke alarms.
Batteries! Did you get batteries?? Don’t forget to pick up batteries for Christmas morning, and while you’re at it, pick up a spare battery for your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. Don’t be tempted to “borrow” the smoke alarm battery on Christmas morning. pic.twitter.com/NVpgo2m9xC

Remember to take precautions this Christmas and make sure all candles and electrical appliances are off before leaving the house to ensure a fantastic and happy Christmas.
