I’m sure all parents are guilty of pulling something along these lines!
George Clooney has shared his very relatable Santa Claus parenting hack that he whips out when his two children are acting up.
The actor welcomed his six-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander, in July 2017 with his wife Amal Clooney.
As they’ve gotten older, the ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ star has found a way of using the Man in Red to promote good behaviour.
Clooney, while at the Los Angeles premiere of ‘The Boys in the Boat’ – which he directed – told PEOPLE that he has cast a friend to play the role of Santa, making him an all-year-round contact.
“They’re still all into the Santa thing, which is very helpful, because when my kids are acting poorly, let’s say in July, I have a call from Santa,” he told the outlet.
“And I go, ‘Hey Santa, how’s it going?’ And he’s like, ‘Everything’s going good. How are the kids?’ And I go, ‘Well, I don’t know. Kids, how are you guys doing?’ They’re like, [whining]. And then I get away with it.
“I actually have a buddy whose phone comes up ‘Santa.’ “
In 2020, when he and his wife’s children were three years of age, the star opened up to the publication about fatherhood and how it changed his life.
“In marriage, and now with the kids, you give away the selfishness of only looking out for yourself.
“It’s a wonderful thing. Amal and I talk about it every day. We feel so lucky.”
We may have to steal this Santa hack.
