Princess Kate will remain in hospital for up to two weeks

Prince William has visited Princess Kate in hospital following her planned abdominal surgery this week.

The mum-of-three was hospitalised for a planned surgery this week but has to remain in the hospital for ten to fourteen days following the operation.

The royals have not confirmed what kind of surgery the mum had, but Prince William was spotted visiting her at The London Clinic yesterday.

Princess Kate is reportedly “doing well” following the procedure.

According to the BBC, the surgery was planned but not a medical emergency. It is also not cancer-related, BBC reports.

A spokesperson for the royals confirmed the news about Kate’s surgery in a statement this week.

“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to The London Clinic yesterday for planned abdominal surgery. The surgery was successful and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery.

“Based on the current medical advice, she is unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

“The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes that the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible, and her wish that her personal medical information remains private,” the statement concluded.

The Princess of Wales won’t return to royal duties until she has fully recovered from the operation. She will likely return to work after Easter but is following doctors orders for the time being.
