Pregnant Sophie Turner says becoming a mum made her a better actress

She’s currently expecting her second child.

Sophie Turner has said becoming a mother made her a better actress due to a heightened sense of empathy.

The Game of Thrones star, who is pregnant with her second child with husband Joe Jonas, spoke on how parenthood has affected her career during an appearance on the UnWrapped podcast.

Speaking about how becoming a mum to 22-month-old daughter Willa has given her a “different perspective” on each character she plays, she said: “The concept of family has made me an entirely much more emotional person.

“The empathy is heightened. The feelings about family are just like, overflowing. It’s made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother.”

Sophie, who’ll be returning to the small screen for HBO’s the Staircase alongside Colin Firth and Toni Collette, added that motherhood has given her more life experiences to take into performances with her.

“As an actor, the only way to become a really brilliant actor is to experience as much life as possible and to bring those experiences in,” she said.

“And so this is just another little part of life that I’m experiencing that I get to bring in and hopefully it helps my performance one way or another.”
