The episode will air later on this evening.

England cricketers and queer couple, Nat and Katherine Sciver-Brunt will become the first ever LGBTQ+ couple to appear on CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories.

It’s common for the show to have famous faces on reading stories but this is the first lesbian couple to ever make it on screen.

Nat and Katherine will make history by reading two stories, as part of Pride month, at Trent Bridge cricket ground, in Nottingham.

They’ll read the book Find Your Happy by Emily Coxhead, which is a story all about how good it is to feel happy and the episode will air on BBC Cbeebies at 6:30pm this evening, Friday June 9th.

The couple, who married in May last year, are best known as members of the England cricket team, having both being named women’s cricketer of the year in the past.

According to Pink News, Nat said: “It’s really important to know that it’s okay to feel different things or not fit in and to know that you will find your comfort zone.”

Katherine added: “We had a lot of fun. We’re delighted to have been a part of it, especially as a couple.”

Since the news was announced, people have been sending messages of support and praise to the national broadcaster and to Katherine and Nat.

Many think it’s “absolutely wonderful” to see same-sex couples on screen. They believe it’s a great way to help children understand and celebrate Pride month.

Many LGBTQ+ people appeared on Bedtime Stories in the past, including Elton John in 2018. However, this is the first time a couple has featured.
