A Go Fund Me page set up to help a grieving mother to get back on her feet has been attacked by online commenters.
The young mother, Xanna Weavell was travelling with her partner, Alex and two-year-old daughter, Ruby when the car crashed and burst into flames claiming the lives of Xanna's family.
The family had been waiting in the queue at a breathalyzer check point, when Alex decided to make a u-turn out of the line of waiting cars. He then drove at speed in the opposite direction, lost control of the vehicle and hit a pole.
The Go Fund Me page was set up by Claire Orchards.
“This is to raise money to help Xanna get back on her feet after such a tragic car crash that resulted in the heartbreaking loss of her partner and gorgeous little girl. Any donations would be appreciated to help Xanna afford anything she needs in this indescribably hard time. Help spread the word!” she states.
However, the page was then targeted by trolls making the assumption that the young dad was driving while under the influence.

Jazmine Weavell, Xanna's sister, spoke to
KidsSpot about the effect the hurtful comments have had during this harrowing time:
“People just thrive off it these days, and it’s honestly not right of them, but there isn’t anything we can do. We know the truth and know how much Alex loved and adored his beautiful daughter.”
“Ruby never went without, she was loved by so many and touched so many hearts.”
"It’s very disrespectful that people are saying such negative comments when they don’t know them personally or what happened."
Many other well-wishers came to the deceased father's defense, and the fundraising target has been raised.
