Friends of the two students who sadly died while on holiday in Greece have formed a guard of honour as their bodies left the island of Ios.
Dozens of classmates and young people lined the street which led to the port as the remains of Andrew O'Donnell and Max Wall were brought to a ferry to Athens, Greece, for postmortems.
Students from various schools, as well as those from St. Michael's College in Dublin where the boys had just sat the Leaving Cert, took part in the guard of honour.
Funeral arrangements have since been announced for the two 18 year olds, with Max's funeral set to take place on Monday at the The Church of the Sacred Heart in Donnybrook at 11:00 am and Andrew's to be held in the same place on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
A statement published alongside Max's death notice reads: "Max, with a larger than life personality brought great joy to the lives of his family and friends and everyone he came in contact with. During his short time, he faced numerous challenges that he bore with great courage and bravery and always remained his most positive sunny fun filled self."
A statement on Andrew's passing read: "Andrew brought immense joy to the lives of his family, friends, and all who knew him. He possessed a vibrant spirit, a kind heart, and a sense of humour that brightened the darkest of days."
While the results of both post mortem will not be released for another 10 days, Greek officials believe that Andrew died following a fall which resulted in a head injury while Max sadly passed away from cardiac issues after hearing the news of his friend's death.
Max is understood to have a history of heart problems.
