The mother of 10-year-old Dylan Fitzpatrick has paid tribute to her son following his untimely death in Turkey.
The young boy and his dad were tragically killed in a road accident in Turkey on Monday, July 17th.
The father and son’s funeral took place at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise yesterday.
Dylan’s mother Claire bravely spoke out about her son at the service.
She said he was best friends with his father Eoin and hopes “they are holding each other tight wherever they are”.
The mum said Dylan was the “kindest boy” who enjoyed the simple things in life.
She told mourners that Dylan loved to read, dance and colour.
“His best friend was his daddy, whom he loved dearly because he was and always will be the most amazing father to him and Cian.”
“I hope they are holding each other so tight wherever they are.
She continued: “I love you. I love you more. I love you the most.”
Dylan and his father Eoin were tragically killed in a road accident in Turkey last week. The father and son were travelling on a moped when it collided with a bus.
They were reportedly carrying out one final errand before the accident took place.
They were due to fly home on the day of the accident. Eoin’s other son Cian was also on the holiday, but he was not with them at the time of the accident.
