Saoírse Ruane sadly passed away in March
The untimely passing of Saoírse Ruane broke the hearts of the nation in March 2024. The Toy Show star’s mum recently spoke out about her beloved daughter in a heartbreaking Instagram post.
On April 30th, Saoírse’s mum shared a video taken in their family home in Galway. She said April 30th was Saoírse’s teddy Slush’s birthday.
Slush was a major comfort to Saoírse during her cancer treatment.
Her mam said the teddy became “such a big part of our lives” when he entered their household on Christmas Day 2017.
Slush was a Santa gift for Saoírse and became a “loyal confidant to Saoírse”.
Writing on Instagram, her mum said: “Today is Slushes birthday 30th April. Slush became such a big part of our lives when he entered the Ruane household on Christmas Day 2017, compliments of the great Santa.
“More importantly we never realised how big a role Slush would play in the coming years as he became such a loyal confidant to Saoírse through her horrendous journey of childhood cancer.”
Slush was by Saoírse’s side during her harrowing cancer battle.
“He was by her side for every appt, hospital stay, chemo, radium, review, amputation, bloods, and much more. She adored him.”
“The secrets Saoírse told Slush and the worries have gone to heaven with her, as has Slush wrapped in her arms,” her mum added.
The heartbroken mum said April 30th was another difficult day for her family, but the public has been showering them with support.
