Local TD Mattie McGrath confirmed the vigil will be held this evening, August 27th in Clonmel. It will take place at 6.30 pm in the Kickham Plaza, Clonmel.

The vigil will be led by local clergy and the Mayor of Clonmel Cllr. Richie Molloy.

“We come together to mourn the tragic loss of the four young souls who lost their lives in Friday’s heartbreaking accident.

“We remember Nicole, Zoe, Grace Luke, and their families at this most difficult time. All are welcome and please bring a candle if you wish,” McGrath added.

Grace McSweeney, Nicole Murphy, and Zoey Coffey were going out to celebrate their Leaving Cert results on Friday evening. Luke was driving his sister and her friends to Carlow to celebrate the momentous day.

Tributes have been pouring in for the four victims since the harrowing accident on Friday.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar stated: “Leaving Cert results night should mark the beginning of a world of opportunities for young people. It’s a milestone on the road from childhood to adulthood.

“The whole nation mourns them. My sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have died and the wider community in Clonmel and Tipperary.”
