The cutest thing.

Children across the globe are marking World Down Syndrome day today and here in Ireland, they’ve marked it in a very special way – with the sweetest video.

With the message of “It’s a better place with us in it”, 30 Irish children and their families took part in a music video of all the children in the Down Syndrome Centre’s Team 21 singing and signing Better Place by Rachel Platten.

Siobhan McHugh and her two year old son Toby were two of the people involved in the heartwarming clip, telling The Sun: “The Down Syndrome Centre has made such a difference to our life.

“We have been attending The Down Syndrome Centres since Toby was just a few weeks old and the centres are full of so much love and support.

“We have used the therapy services with their wonderful therapists and Toby also attends fun classes each week which brings the biggest smile to his little face as he practices his dance moves and doing Lámh signs to all of his favourite nursery rhymes.”

The Down Syndrome Centre in Swords is launched today to mark World Down Syndrome Day, providing unique services to children with Down syndrome from three months to 18 years.

They have been in business for a year now, with a facility in Sandymount also and aims to give children with Down syndrome the most fulfilling life.

Their mission statement reads: “To create a centre dedicated to providing support and services to families and carers of people with Down syndrome; helping them to reach their full potential and creating a brighter future.”
