Not long to go now.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting married on May 19 and with little over a month to go until the big day, there’s major attention surrounding the royal couple.
Today, Kensington Palace announced that Meghan and Harry do not want gifts from the people attending their wedding celebrations.
Instead, they have asked those planning to mark the occasion of their wedding to donate to one of the below charities.
A statement from the palace issued via Twitter reads:
“The couple have personally chosen 7 charities which represent a range of issues that they are passionate about, including sport for social change, women’s empowerment, conservation, the environment, homelessness, HIV and the Armed Forces”.
The official Twitter account has also included the seven charities, with a short note to explain why they have been chosen.
The statement, which you can read in full here, explains that they have concentrated on smaller charities in an effort to highlight the work that they do.
“Prince Harry and Ms. Markle do not have any formal relationships with the charities chosen.
Many of these are small charities, and the couple are pleased to be able to amplify and shine a light on their work”.
The charities are:
CHIV – children’s HIV Association.
Crisis – a charity for homelessness.
Myna Mahila Foundation – empowering women in Mumbai’s slums.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers –Â charity for bereaved Armed Forces children.

Street Games –Â uses sport to change lives across the UK.
