But no, like us, you’d too be wrong to believe that was the correct answer.
In fact, the most popular royal within the palace walls is one we don’t hear enough of. Apparently, it is in fact, Prince Philip that is a firm favourite amongst palace staff.
According to Marie Claire, actor Matt Smith (Prince Philip in The Crown) did plenty of research on the royal member when getting into character, even speaking to some royal staff who spilt the beans.
He said:
“In the Royal house, he’s the most popular of all of them. If you’ve talked to any of the staff, Philip’s the one they all love really.
“He’s a bit more of a man of the people. The royal protocol hasn’t dogged him in quite the same way his whole life and there’s a sort of rebellion in him and a naughtiness and a cheekiness. I think he’s quite affable and open by all accounts with the staff.
“They all love him!”
The star also noted that the 97-year-old is seen as “clever” and “very funny”. We have a sudden urge to meet Prince Philip now.
But he isn’t the only royal making a good impression, Meghan Markle has too found a tactical way to bond with Princess Charlotte and Prince George and it’s very cute.
