Kat O'Connor

Social welfare payment dates are set to change.

Social welfare payment dates will likely change next month due to the May bank holiday.

Payments will be impacted by the upcoming bank holiday weekend, according to Money Guide Ireland.

Post offices will be closed on Monday, May 1st so people can expect their payments earlier than usual.

Payments due on May 1st can be collected from post offices on Friday, April 28th.

However, payments due on Tuesday, May 2nd won’t be affected.

Social welfare payments made to your bank or credit union will be paid on April 28th rather than May 1st.

Money Guide Ireland confirmed that payments expected on Tuesday, May 2nd won’t be affected. This includes the Child Benefit payment.

The Department of Social Protection confirmed when parents will receive the Child Benefit bonus.

Earlier this month, the Department of Social Protection said the €100 Child Benefit bonus will be paid this summer.

The €100 bonus will be paid to help parents and guardians cope with the cost of living crisis.

Recipients can expect the payment at the beginning of June, the Department of Social Protection confirmed.

The additional funds will be paid on June 6th, which is the June Child Benefit payment date.
